Drum
tables The length of cable that
can be laid on a drum depends on many factors. Most important are
of course the drum size and the diameter of the cable but the acceptable
clearance and how well the cable is laid also affects the amount
of cable that the drum can hold. The clearance is the amount of
space between the ground and the cable when the drum is placed on
even ground. Standard clearance is recommended in order to minimise
the risk of damage to the cable during transport and handling. Clearance
equal to cable diameter gives more cable on the drum but also demands
more care when handling the drum.
The tables below gives the amount
of cable, in meters, that can be laid on different drums for all
universal cables.
